Thursday, 10 Jan 2013
The event INdT Mobile Labs, held in Manaus, in the 15th and 16th of December was a major milestone in the history of the Institute. Besides being the first event of its kind, the initiative has helped to foster the exchange of knowledge and the growth of Nokia ecosystem development, comprised of developers, designers, students, small businesses and universities. This event is part of a plan for training activities that INdT has performed with several universities in Brazil and Latin America.
More than 200 people attended the event, which featured 21 lectures on Development and Design for the Windows Phone and Series 40, promoted by the Institute evangelized. The INdT Mobile Labs also had the presence of Rodolpho Marques, representative of the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, which presented a number of advantages of the Windows Phone platform.
After the lectures, about 35 people attended 24 hours of uninterrupted Hackathon, a programming challenge unprecedented in Manaus, which awarded the 2 best applications developed on Windows Phone and Series 40. The competition generated 10 apps with high quality standards.
Secondly won Ludymila Lobo De Aguiar Gomes (lobo.ludymila@gmail.com), Gustavo Picanço Consentini (gustavoconsentini@gmail.com) and Álvaro Reis Neto (reisneto.alvaro@gmail.com) who developed the app imprint and Accessibility social Talk for Me, which encourages communication autistic. The big winners of the competition were Michael Pepper Saldanha (michaelsaldanha@live.com) and Claudemiro Freitas (claudemirofreitas@yahoo.com.br), who presented the Frog game that helps children develop math skills.
In addition to the immediate results, the INdT Mobile Labs served to establish more of a direct communication channel with enthusiasts, students and businessmen linked to technology. Because of this, in 2013, the marathon runners can participate in coaching activities with developers and designers in INdT.
