One of the highlights of INdT’s Laboratory for Usability last year was the completion of the Palma Project . In partnership with the institution IES2 – a company focused on mobile solutions for education and entertainment based in Campinas, in the State of Sao Paulo – the study aimed to evaluate aspects related to ease of use and understanding of the Palm application, developed interface to complement the learning of adult literacy process.

The project involved ten participants aged between 23 and 57 years old. They were nominated by teachers at a public school in the city of Manaus and then selected to participate in the research, reports the designer Fran Maciel.

A qualitative research, including individual and group interviews, allowed us to obtain important data that pointed the efficiency of the application. The project enabled the raising of new opportunities that may be offered to the educational field, especially for adult literacy, considers Fran.
