Stock Taking System

With a seamless methodology, INdT developed the Stock Taking System (STS), a modular tool to automate information for stock taking in the Nokia plant in Manaus.
The modules increased accuracy on data entering and enhanced the counting stage. Another work that was developed is counting by N810 and N900 tablets, to allow working in real time and making the job more efficient.
To obtain such advantage, a driver was developed for the barcode reader. The counter uses the driver to collect data on the code and quantity (for boxes and closed reels) and automatically computes the data in the system.
This process reduced stock taking time from 48 hours to less than 24 hours, says project manager Leandro Ferraz. After SMS deployment, the plant “won” four days more for production every year.
STS brings the additional advantage of recording inventory data in order to use it in future audits, if necessary.
